Review: The Morph (Gate-Shifters, #1) by J.C. Andrijeski

The Morph (Gate-Shifters, #1)The Morph by J.C. Andrijeski
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Do you find the characters convincing? Emotionally, the characters were convincing. Their need to mate, and to be with other people made sense. They were angry, jealous and logical like any human. Physically, however, I had some difficulty imagining their morph shapes. Sometimes, it felt like the movie Avatar and sometimes, it felt like the morph shape was so out of this world you just could not imagine it.

How would the book have been different if it had taken place in a different time or place? Considering, this story was based on a completely different planet, my book club members and I are quite confident, that a different time or place would not necessarily alter the story.

Make a list of facts you learned from the story. Dakota is a private investigator. She is curious and follows a stranger. She then finds herself in a strange land with Nikhil and his people. Even worse, she ends up becoming his "lock-mate" when they mate and she is found to be fertile.

Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from the author.
